Remote access in the production of mask fleece

The Reifenhäuser Reicofil company is the world market leader in so-called meltblown lines. They are used for the production of nonwovens made of ultrafine filaments – the basic material for the manufacture of medical respiratory masks.

In connection with the current Covid 19 pandemic, the machine and plant manufacturer based in Troisdorf near Cologne has already reduced the delivery time of its lines to less than 4 months. In addition, the customers of the plants installed worldwide can be supported at any time. This is ensured by the industrial router mbNET, which provides secure access to the entire plant.
We at MB connect line are proud to be part of the solution. Our industrial routers mbNET, together with the remote service portal mbCONNECT24, enable comprehensive services via the Internet. Via secure remote access, the machine and plant manufacturer can directly support the operators of the meltblown plants as if the service personnel were on site. This starts with the clarification of questions regarding operation and process safety, includes the modification of control programs or plant parameters and extends to the recording of production figures or wear data, so that the responsible personnel are informed of deviations in good time.

Even before the corona restrictions, the remote service module of MB connect line enabled continuous monitoring and remote maintenance of the systems of a machine manufacturer installed worldwide. This is even more important in the current situation. Contact bans, closed borders and cancelled flights make it almost impossible to travel to the plant for a short time. And if it does have to be, the effort involved is considerable. Moreover, nobody wants to expose neither his own employees nor the personnel of his business partners to unnecessary risks.

MB connect line therefore supports its customers to the best of its ability to set up a new remote maintenance infrastructure or to make full use of the possibilities offered by existing remote maintenance solutions – for example, through permanent machine monitoring and alarms in the event of impending breakdowns – instead of reacting only when the plant is already at a standstill. In addition, on request we can send pre-configured industrial routers directly to the plant. These only need to be installed on site and connected to the Internet or (W)LAN. As soon as the routers are online, the service personnel have direct access to the plants – even directly from their home office. The colleagues from our sales and support department provide support in all organizational and technical questions. Almost all of them also work from home, but can be reached via the respective known e-mail addresses and telephone numbers – or centrally via and .

At this point we are happy to announce the first TV role of our industrial router mbNET. In a ZDF report you can take a look into the production halls of our customer Reifenhäuser Reicofil starting at 3:36 min. Discover our little star in the ZDF Mediathek?
